I can not end my subscription

Hi there,

My workplace paid for my personal connection. I used my personal number for both work and personal. So, my workplace had 3 connections. I recently resigned and changed my workplace. So, I requested to transfer the ownership of my connection. But it has transferred with a binding period. So, Tre has forced me to pay the full lump sum to change my service provider or use it until the end of October. I feel this is unfair because this is not my choice, and I didn't even know the package details.

Can anyone help regarding this issue?

Best Regards

@Chameera Hey,

I’d recommend that you contact your previous employer to find a solution. When doing the transfer it’s in the terms that an eventual bindning period is transferred as well since the part that takes over the subscription is responsible for the subscription transferred and eventual binding period. Your previous employer should have informed you that the subscription had a bindning period.

@Chameera Hey,

is it correct that your subscription was paid directly by your previous employer - and they had a subscription registered on their company and not on your personal number? And now when you changed employer, you made a “överlåtelse” from them to you?

@Petersson  Hey,

Thank you so much for reply

Yeah That’s correct. With ”överlåtelse” binding period has transferred to me. Than I have to pay a package for a next 8 months which wasn’t I agreed on

I had similar issue when I tried to switch service provider for my workphone today, since I got  the tre number transferred to my name when I left my employer last month. But today I got to know it has binding period till March 2027 and Tre asked  me to pay the fee (~5000SEK) till March 2027 to close or switch to another service provider. This was surprise to me.

Employer never informed me about this binding period or else I will never accept such kind of agreement. I personally feel Tre is also playing with bad kind of marketing and business strategy. They should inform new user and send some documents informing the clause than remaining silent in background.

Hi @sanjais16, welcome to 3Community 👋🏻

Sorry to hear that. Information about the binding period being transferred along with the subscription should be visible on the document that you and, in this case, the company sign.

Regardless of that, this feedback is very valuable, and I’ll make sure to address it — it might not be visible enough! 🙂
